How do I remove a version of ATIM 2012 from a W10 machine?
I have an old version of Acronis True Image 2012 which has been ported across to a new W10 machine
Windows update requires me to remove the Acronis installation - when I try and uninstall it the ATIM 2012 wizard starts to run, then encounters a problem, rolls back the uninstall and then fails
ANy ideas?

Many thanks
I ran booted the machine in SAFE mode and that allowed installation of the updates (tho' it locked up the machine for 12+ hours)
I then downloaded the Cleanup tool and it worked fine - tho there still seem to be some non-critical shortcuts & odds and ends scattered about the machine

Did you follow the instructions on the Cleanup Utility page? It's important to do all the steps, not just run the Cleanup Utility, in order to fully remove ATI.

yes - as you say just running the utility leaves all sorts of odds and ends around!!!

Robert, did you use 'Run as Administrator' when running the Acronis Cleanup Tool - this is needed to ensure that the tool has the correct privileges to remove the Acronis data, plus you should reboot after using the tool to complete the action.
If you still see any Acronis 'odds and ends' after using the tool, then let us know what these are, post a screen shot etc. It is possible that you are seeing 'user' type folders that Acronis may deem it has not created or which holds user data that you may wish to keep?

Thanks Steve
yes - I did run as Adminstrator - IIRC the main odds were a couple of empty folders (and they WERE empty) that didn't seem to have anything to do with the Acronis software as such
I've checked a couple of times and it really seems to be clean and the issue that I was having with Windows 10 was solved instantly
