How do we backup to our Microsoft OneDrive Storage area?

Thread needs solution

How do we direct our Acronis True Image 2015 backups to our various OneDrive storage areas as a backup destination?

I surely hope Acronis isn't going to say we cannot, simply because they are competing in the storage area. If so, Acronis ceases to be a truly universal application. And for the $50.00 it takes to purchase another program, I and many others will gladly make the expenditure in order to access my 5 TB (soon to be unlimited) free storage space on OneDrive and other similar services!

I am not in front of my PC right now, but here is what I would try:
- create a separate partition on the system disk, or use an external disk,
- move the default location of OneDrive to that location,
- backup to that location, choosing splitting into smaller files.

You could probably point ATI at the One Drive folder without changing its location but storing an image ackup onto the drive you backup is not recommended.

Thank you, Pat, for the recommendation. My only concern is that this requires a duplicate disk (if current disk is largely full) as large as our existing disk. This method may help provide a redundant copy of the second backup disk (nice), but also requires us to acquire another local disk versus backing up to OneDrive directly.

Understood. I don't see any other way than using the integration between Windows and OneDrive to achieve what you want. BTW, I am skeptical this is a good approach. You'd be better off copying your TIB files to a disk that you take off line, ideally offsite. Think about the problems of using the OneDrive stored files to a restore...

I agree with Blue Max, I will never renew with this system, I have all the storage I need that Acronis won't let me access, nuts.  I am really disappointed with this company.  Cannot get a live person to save your butt, vertually no help at all using the system.  As a former programmer for the FAA (they are still using the ARTS transfer system that I developed back in the 70's) still works today.

Gee, you like to bitch don't you? I'm not sure if this is ATI 2016 only or if it is also in 2015, but I just did a backup of a 2 GB file (a TrueCrypt partion) from an USB stick directly to my OneDrive. Did you try it?

Sure, there is 450 Gig that came with Win 10,  that over rides the 1.01TB that I have with Office 365 when Acronis backs up the entire system 42 gig the 450 gig gets used up fast.  In order to have the system recognise the 1.01 TB I have to unsync the 450 gig that came with Win 10.

I bought Office 365 because of the 1.01 TB of storage for each of 5 computers.

Myrtles Turtle,

Set up your backup tasks so they use custom backup schemes with auomatic cleanup and the program will auto delete the oldest chains which can prevent your disk from getting totally full.  This link can help.

I know this is old, but thought I'd pass this on as a POSSIBLE option.   Map a drive directly to OneDrive from your PC.  Use Acronis to backup to that mapped rive.   http://thetechl33t.com/2014/03/14/how-to-mount-your-onedrive-as-a-local-mapped-drive/
