How do you completely remove True Image?

Thread needs solution

I am having numerous issues with True Image Home 2010. I want to try cleaning out the whole system since a lot of these problems (Slow response, running tasks schedules that no longer exist, just plain slow) have been in my previous versions. How can I remove everything, registry entrys, program, all data to start fresh and give it a true chance to work correctly.

Download the Acronis uninstall utility - make sure it is the one for TI 2010, you may also need to download and install two Microsoft files form Microsoft.

Details and file link are here

If you wish to be extra thorough, then running a search through reigstry for any strings = Acronis, TI should do the trick.

First, as a safety precaution, strongly urge you perform a backup of your system before you uninstall 2010. By doing so, if you have problems, you can then restore your system to what it was prior to the uninstall.

I have not used the new 2010 uninstall utility but I have use the free Revo Uninstaller and it worked for me. Should you decide to try this,
you download and install the program. Then start the Revo program and select the TrueImage icon and Revo observes the standard uninstall by TrueImage. If you choose to remove everything (bottom option), it then searches the registry and displays what it finds and you can authorize the removal of the remaining remmants which is done in two parts--if I remember correctly.

Lastly, after using one or another unistaller, if they fail to run or you fear that some traces are left behind, you can search the registry for all strings containing "Acronis" "trueimage", or "fomatik" and delete all of those. This is quite tedious with Windows's regedit but a piece of cake using a registry tool. I like jv16 powertools but ther are plenty of others. These will literally delete all such entries from the dozeon or so files that make up the hives of the Registry. After doing this, reboot. Lastly go under [sysytemdisk]\Program files\Acronis and delete any the files and [sysytemdisk]\Program files\Common Files\Acronis and delete any files.

For Vista-W7 I believe the Prgram Files directory is under a slightly diff name-location but easily found using explorer.

good luck.

When I click on the link, I get "access denied". I am logged onto the forums and I am logged onto my Acronis account and can see my registered programs, but I can't get to the KB file listed.

I was trying to update TI home 2010 to the latest level and it said that there was another version of this product installed and I should uninstall that first. The only acronis product installed is the previous build of TI home 2010. So I tried to uninstall using the control panel and it says the installation data is corrupted and it can't do anything. This corruption I guess could be the reason that the update won't install I suppose.

In any case I can't install the update, I can't uninstall the current version and I can't access the TI uninstaller mentioned in KB 7533.....

Any thoughts? Thanks, Bob Roos

I get access denied because the link is bogus. After posting my original message, I decided to scan the knowledge base for 7533 and got lots of hits. One of the articles had the correct link to the uninstall file http://kb.acronis.com/sites/default/files/content/2010/01/7533/true_ima…

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your point of view, Acronis released an updated removal tool which works with 2011. In doing this they (Acronis) changed the access links.

Remove Acronis TrueImage 2017:

- Download AcronisTrueImage2017_web.exe (which is TrueImage Installer, downloaded from Acronis website)

- Click to run it.  Select Uninstall.
