How do you use ATI 2010 to transfer files from 1 PC to another?

Thread needs solution

I have some files on my external hd that were backed up using ATI's 2010 from a PC running Windows XP and I would like to install them onto my new PC running Windows Vista 7 and the same ATI 2010 software. So far I have had no luck in getting this done. So is there an easy way to do this, even a hard way would beat nothing or am I just out ofluck?

This is like asking if you can have the same meal in two different restaurants. IF they are virtually identical restaurants (like two different Denny's) then you can probably pull it of. But usually there are small differences

If both machines have the exact same hardware, then you can just do a full diskmode restore to the harddisk on the 2nd machine. You will want to remove ATI (and other progs) from the first machine if you only have licenses for one user. Also, if you are using ati2012, you'll need to deactivate ATI on your current PC so that you can activate it on your 2nd PC.

If the hardware is not absolutely identical, then you'll need the Plus Pack in addition to ATI so that you can do a Universal Restore. And you will need the drivers for the 2nd PC's hardware. Note that even the same models of a PC might have differing hardware -- different releases  or brands of network cards, etc.).
