How to establish if unlisted Home v9.0 hassles are fixed in Home v10.0?

Thread needs solution

I'm receiving repeated promos to upgrade to Home v10, and expect to rcv many more if I don't upgrade. The trouble is, I shelved Home v9.0 and stayed with v8.0 because I was having Diff backup naming hassles, and there seems no easy way of knowing if v10 has fixed this "unlisted" problem.

How do I find out if the Differential Backup Set renaming hassle is now resolved. Otherwise I'll have to continue with my Home v8.0, and somehow filter out the promo emails. (I need the newsletters as I did buy Disk Director.)

For clarification, I've detailed the problem as follows:
My problem is with editing Tasks I've created for Diff Backups on 5 partitions / drives. Under TI Home v8.0 I could edit the 5 Tasks periodically to change the backup image file names (from Set A to Set B, to SetC ....). When I upgraded to Home v9.0 I found that I could no longer edit this way - TI simply kept creating further Diff files instead of a new Full backup upon renaming. (Also the Consolidation feature kept removing Diff automatically outside of my control, and no Help Guide to explain.)

To obtain a new Backup Set I was obliged to delete the old Task and create it all over again. This way I could begin the new Set B, and then Set C or Set D or Set E. I got so frustrated with recapturing 5 Tasks every few weeks I reverted to using Home v8.0, and have never used v9.0 since then.

Now I'm receiving promos for TI Home v10.0 and I haven't a clue how to ask if this previous hassle has been resolved. I took a look in Grover's Toips and Guides, under Backup techniques, but all the ones I've read do not discuss the renaming of backup image SETS within Tasks.

Hello Andrew,

Let me assist you with this situation.

I assume that under "TI Home v10.0" you mean the latest version, Acronis True Image Home 2010, since we do not sell any older versions by promo actions at our website.

In this version, we have changed task algorithm and now you can set any backup name template in the product, this template can be changed easily by editing the task. For the detailed information about backup names, please check 3.3. Chapter of this User's Guide.

Also, you may try this product before purchase, by using the trial version. The functional limitation of Acronis True Image trial version is that you can only use a software for 15 days. Windows version is fully functional  and it does not have any more limitations.
Bootable CD from trial version can be used for recovery only.

Additionally to this, you are welcome to ask me any other questions concerning Acronis, and I will assist you further.

Thank you.
