How to get all AV files not just particular suffixes

Thread needs solution

As far as I can tell, there's no way for me to tell ATI2010 to back up all my files from the main folders (Documents, Audio, Video, Pictures), short of backing up the whole disk. This is in Windows 7 Pro. For Audio for instance, the new UI in ATI2010 seems to only allow you to back up a list of suffixes. But how do I know that will cover all the metadata and other files that itunes and other music organization software uses?

What I'm trying to do is simply back up all my personal files to later be restored after a clean OS reinstall. I don't want most of my files I want all of them :-) So how do I get a backup with all suffixes?

I know I could do a backup of the full disk, system and all, but my time and hard drive space constraints make that awkward so I am hoping to get just the files, not the programs and system state.

Copy them using Windows Explorer. They are already compressed so that isn't much of an issue.

When you do the reinstall, consider partitioning your HD so all your important data files aren't on the C drive. I never keep anything important there.

Thanks, but I've got so many files that copying with Windows explorer is not practical due to needing to click Ignore on lots of different file errors dialogs; I can't babysit this for the many hours it takes to copy the files.

Having said that, I think I found a solution; the "Video" "Images" and other destinations have an edit button that takes me to a dialog where I can choose to back up all files rather than just the files with the selected suffixes. I'm running a backup now to verify that this is the solution.
