I don't know what you mean, your message is confusing.

If you made an Acronis True Image backup, that creates a .tib file. If that fie is on one drive and you want to want to copy it to a different drive, use a normal Windows method such as Windows Explorer, robocopy, etc.

Hi,

Sorry for the confusion.
Yes I was able to get .tib file and I used the recovery tab to copy it to a new disk drive but when I installed the hard drive into a pc the computer would not boot. I am trying to figure out why the pc with the new disk is not booting.

Thanks
Sean

Nexxo IT,

If you create an image backup, make sure you include all partitions that are on the system disk. ATI would show you all these partitions. In particular, include any hidden partition, and most importantly the active partition (wherever it might be, not necessarily on the same disk as the OS).

When you restore, make sure you use the recovery CD. If you restore to the same disk, click the entire disk. Upon restoring, make sure the BIOS is point at the right disk and that the right partition is active.

Nexxo,
Review this link to make sure your backup is all inclusive of all partitions on the disk. This link illustrates how to do a disk option backup within Windows using TI 2012.

When doing a restore using the TI Bootable medial CD, this link show how to choose/checkmark the disk when restoring to the same disk or a new disk of the same size.

This link shows where the "Recover disk signature" is located which needs to be check if restoring to a new disk.
