How to merge older backups with newer ones without deleting anything?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I would like to know how to take a large amount of backup sets, and merge them into one.

The consolidation feature sort of does this, but it deletes the versions you don't select. I was looking for something that would go through each backup, look for files that are different from the previous backup, and only replace those. No need to touch anything that hasn't changed.

Is there any way to accomplish this?

magnetite, sorry but none of the Acronis Home products work in the way you are looking for.

Consolidation is no longer an accurate word in the context of how Acronis True Image uses it, as this is in fact 'Automatic Cleanup' where the purpose is to follow the rules that you have configured for your backup task.

For example: Store no more than 3 recent version chains - which consolidates by removing all older version chains once the 4th backup version chain has been successfully started with a new Full backup image file.

From your file listing image, you look to have a backup scheme that creates a new Full backup after creating 5 Differential backups, and are storing no more than 5 recent version chains, plus have checked the option to keep the initial (first) full backup image for this task.
