How to move a backup (True Image 2013) to an external device?
My ACER notebook doesn't boot due to a failing connection to it's HDD. Boot from Acronis Recovery CD is possible and recovery from the Acronis partition works fine, but doesn't solve the problem. Neither the move of the image nor the creation of a new backup to an external medium is possible, because the version hasn't included this feature. Do you have any idea how to solve this dilemma ?
Kind regards

Thanks a lot for your kindly support
I want to save the backup image as well as my personal data from the crashed HD. Acronis True Image booted from recovery CD has access to all drives and folders (!) and is able to manage backups as well as recoveries, but it works only within the bounds of the broken HD. In a first step I succeeded in storing a backup image (*tib-file) of my personal date on a connected USB flash device. I hope this will help me to recover it on a new HD afterwards. Do you see any possibility to rescue the image itself to reuse it for a rebuilding of my "old" system on a "new" HD?

I took a major step forward and found the solution. It was very confusing, that my personal date could could be backed up on an USB stick, but not the system image on another one. Now I have detected that the format of the 50GB USB stick used for the system image is "extFAT" and seems not to be supported by Acronis. Therfore I alway got an error, but now I tried it again with a normal USB stick and it worked!! I'm very confident now that the my system could be recovered from the USB device to a new HD.
Many thanks!
