How to re-create backups after reinstallation of Windows?

Hi,
I have my backups on a NAS and have noticed that when I re-installed Windows I had to re-do all the backups. I found the backup files no problem but for some reason it didnt create an incremental backup. Instead it created a full backup.

Any ideas why?
