How to recover a file from a .tibx created under ATI 2011 or ATI 2013

Thread solved

Hello

I have some old .tibx files that were created a long long time ago under ATI  2010 or 2011 or 2013??  It has been so long I can't remember.  I am currently running ATI 2019 (I typically upgrade every three years).  How do I go about browsing the contents of these old .tibx files to see if there is anything worth while recovering?  I am hoping that it is still possible to recover a file.

Thanks

Colin

Colin, welcome to these public User Forums.

One point of clarification: .TIBX files were only introduced with ATI 2020 and later versions so are completely unreadable by any earlier versions of ATI such as 2019 or before!

All older versions of ATI from 7.0 through 2019 only created .TIB files.

In simplest terms, you should be able to just double-click on your old .TIB files in Explorer on any system with ATI installed (using the same or later version as used to create the file).  This should help show if the backup archive is readable and not corrupted over time.

See the link in my signature regarding Backwards compatibility of backup archive files.

Ah...thank you.  I guess 10 years or so ago I had renamed the suffix by adding an 'x' for some odd reason which I am sure made sense at the time.  I renamed them back to .tib  but got a little worried when the first two I tried said the backup was corrupted.  The others, however, are working just great!  Luckily I had multiple backups of the same disk.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.  I appreciate it.

Cheers

Colin
