How to solve "Cannot open the backup file. View Log"
After upgraded True Image Home from 2010 to 2011+Plus pack. I got the message "Cannot open the backup file. View Log" whenever I click the "Explore all version" link.
I have tried to recreate the backup from scratch but it still appears. The daily incremental backup performed successfully according to the log and I can mount the drives in the backup such that I can assure that TIH can access the backup files successfully.
The backup is storing on a Synology DS1511+ NAS
Anyone have this problem?

Sent to your PM
3. What is your backup location?
\\diskstation\Acronis_Backup where diskstation is the name of my NAS (Synology DS1511+)
4. Are you running the latest build - 6696?
Yes.
5. Do you use encryption of some sort?
No encryption is used.
Any idea?

Hello NYu,
Thank you for the update and for keeping us posted.
I've checked the information you've kindly sent me. I've carefully reviewed it, but we have just released the Update2 for Acronis True Image Home 2011. We believe it might solve the current issue, and would really appreciate if you could kindly update the software according to the to this KB article.
Should the issue remain, please resend me Acronis System Report alongside with the Wireshark log.
Thank you once again for cooperation!
Looking forward for news from you.

Hi, Yana,
Tried the new update but problem still persist. However, I have tried to store the backup files on my another QNAP NAS and no problems occurred. Thus, I tried not to use Windows share but FTP for storing the backup files. After a few days trial, it works without any problem.
I have mapped some drive letters to the Synology DS1511+ NAS and whenever Acronis tried to access the backup files, the connection to these share disconnect. I wonder this was the problem of Synology NAS or not as it has not happened in QNAP NAS.
Anyway, my problem was solved now. Thanks

Same problem here, but I am a new user. I use CIFS to backup from a Windows 7 PC to my Netgear ReadyNAS Duo without any issues, but when I then attempt "Explore all versions" I get the "Cannot open the backup file. View log" issue. True Image's the latest version (bought yesterday!). No encryption is used. The backup location is \\NAS-62-76-B4\username\backup archive\acronis automated backups\ . I thought of moving to FTP as NYu above but I would rather stick to CIFS. Thanks.
G.
