How to stop.

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have True Image 2014.

How do I stop the program running at startup before I even login?

I have disabled the service using msconfig but it still runs even before I login!

I can tell that it is running as if I do not login when I shut down at that point I get the message that True image is terminating the current operations.

That is very odd when it should not be running at all.8-((

I need to do this in able to identify a problem with my Vista installation.

Thanks,

Martin

Martin, you should check that you do not have any scheduled tasks configured on your computer for ATIH 2014, change these to be Not Scheduled in the settings if you have any.

After doing this, then see KB 44350: Acronis True Image 2015/2014: Processes and Services for a list of all the Acronis Services that you should then set to Disabled so that they do not start automatically.

In addition, when using msconfig, check that you have temporarily disabled any of the Acronis Processes / programs from being started automatically too.

Note: you can also use the Acronis Scheduler Manager program to check for any Acronis scheduled tasks if none of your configured tasks show as being set to run by schedule.

Run the schedmgr.exe program as Administrator, then type 'get list' into the command window that is shown, this will list any hidden tasks that are set - you can then follow the instructions in the Scheduler Manager document to zap all tasks or individual ones.  See link in my signature.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the quick detailed reply.

I have just realised that I am running ATIH 2015 not 2014 8-((.

Perhaps that is whyu I cannot find or run schedmgr.exe?

The program does not exist, I have tried a full windows search including hidden and system files.

Is the program different in 2015?

Thanks,

Martin

Martin, you need to download the Acronis Scheduler Manager from the link in my signature - it is a separate, standalone program provided by Acronis, not a part of the installed software.
