How to stop missed backup tasks running on startup
I've got a backup task which runs daily at 1000
I've unticked " if missed run task at start up".
When I come in in the evening and turn on my PC the Acronis backup task starts.
Have I misunderstood the tick box? I don't want the backup task to run when I turn on PC and I don't really care if it misses the daily backup. What do I need to do to stop this behaviour?
Thanks,
Lee

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... is there no one from Acronis reading? I am fed up of my PC effectively locking up for 20 minutes every time I turn it on because Acronis is doing a backup I don't want it to do. I'm pretty desperate. Help please

In your first post you said that you don't care if it misses the daily backup.
My first thought is to remove the schedule and have it run manually, in other words you deliberately start it rather than by schedule.
My next thought is delete and then remake the task, something could be corrupted.
Next I would feel inclined to update to the last build of 2010 which is 7046.
Could you be more explicit about the computer freezing sympton? Is this at log on, just before log on or at some other time? How much CPU time is being used? What OS are you using?

There was an additional update for the Scheduler but was never added to the last build of 2010. I suggest you apply the update as listed in item # 9-N of my signature index below.
For you own peace of mind, you mght also look inside the log file based on time of running and confirm the script id of the backup which you do not not want to run. Then look in the scripts folder and see if such a script is listed--it may not be as some rogue scripts were hidden--which necessitated the release of the new scheduler.
If you find such a script, you can delete the script and create a new one.
