How to Upgrade to Acronis 2015 on new pc

Thread needs solution

I have used Acronis True Image 11 Home on my old pc. I now have a new ASUS Laptop i7-4500U (Win 8.1, 8GB ram, 1TB). Do I need to install ATI 11 Home on the new ASUS before I can upgrade to 2015? I want to back up my entire system BEFORE I do the Windows 10 upgrade. Also, any related advice, etc., would be appreciated! Thanks!

NO, version 11 does not need to be installed but you will need access to the 11 serial if you choose the upgrade route. Or, you can just buy 2015 full version (not the upgrade and slightly more expensive) so one one serial is needed.

Version 2016 is on the horizon soon--often in September. Watch the sales to make sure you get a free upgrade to 2016 from 2015. Usually, there is a very short grace period for this so read carefully before buying.

You might also want a Windows backup of your 8.1 before installing Aronis. Also, if you purchase 2015 or 2016, you can download the iso file, create a new TI REcovery CD, and create a full backup from the TI Recovery CD BEFORE installing Acrnis.

Thanks... I am not familiar (i.e., I'm a semi-"newbie") with what an ISO file is, how to download it and use it, etc. I get the concept (make a full backup BEFORE installing 2015 ATI), I just don't know what/how to do this???
