How to use Acronis 10

Thread needs solution

Hello, I am having a tough time figuring out how to use this backup program. I am somewhat computer literate but when it comes time to do a backup I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I am confused as to what it is asking me for when I just want to do a full backup of my computer. Can someone please take me through it from start to finish in terms that I can understand? I am using Windows XP Home on a Toshiba Laptop with a Toshiba external USB drive. My laptop has a 160 gig drive and my external drive is 320 gig. I guess it is E:. So, what do I do? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for any help. I am going to try to search the forum for help but I thought this might be faster. I am 67 years old so please type slowly.

Ray,

Are you using TI 2010, ABR2010 or TI 10? They are all different versions and whilst similar have enough differences to mean they'll need specific instructions in your case.

Hello all,

Colin, thanks for your help.

Ray, let me guide you through the backup process.

In few words, you need to select what to back up, then select a destination (your external drive), select backup options (you may skip this step) and finally start the backup.

You can find the detailed instructions on how to back up at the Chapter 5 of Acronis True Image 10 Home User's Guide. Additionally, I recommend you to have a look at our Forum MVP GroverH's guide available at this link.

Please reply to this thread if you need any further assistance.

Thank you.

Ray,
Check item both references in item 7A of the index inside my signature link below. This will help you and maybe also read the items in #2. If you're looking for some reading material, look at the listing in the index and you may find other links of interest.

By the way, I am considerably older than you so age has no bearing.
