How to Use Acronis Universal Restore AUR properly
For the first time I am trying to use AUR.
AUR keeps asking me for drivers that are part of the installed Windows OS, as they are part of the default .wim image. Examples are msisadrv.sys and pci.sys. Even If I get those from the OS install CD and point AUR to the directory (not even a parent directory, the very directory the files reside in), AUR keeps complaining about those files being missing.
btw: Does AUR browse all subdirectories for drivers or just the files directly in the directories it is pointed to?
Thanks
Edit; Yes, I have read the "preperation" section and I even tried to put the contents of \windows\inf and \Windows\system32\drivers

Wow. even though your answer is listed here as posted in August, I got the email notification today (about 3.5 months later) ?!
What exactly are you trying to do here that you need to use AUR for?
What version of Windows OS is involved here?
What are the differences in the original hardware and the new hardware?
Note: you should not try to add the whole content of either the Windows INF or Drivers folders to the AUR media.
Note 2: If you are trying to migrate Windows 10 or 11, then you may not need to use AUR at all as these Windows versions have much better detection of new hardware than earlier versions
As I cannot find out how to split the quotes:
I tried to port a Adaptec 3-Disk-RAID5 hosted Windows SBS 2011 system (= Server 2008 R2 = ~ Windows 7) to a non-RAID VirtualBox or VMWare (IDE; SATA, whatever is available). Therefore I have an image from the RAID-Windows taken using a Live-Linux (=a single image, not 3 disk images that need to be combined)
Note: I assume so, but what else am I supposed to do if AUR requests drivers that are part of the OS that is being ported already?!
Note 2: obsolte.
