How to validate only the most recent incremental

Thread needs solution

Using the incremental backup scheme, when I select the option to validate after backup, TrueImage always chooses to validate the full backup, and all incremental versions in the dependency chain.

After having previously validated all of the previous versions at the time they were created, I would like to save time by validating ONLY the most recent incremental just created. I have not found an option to do this.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thank you.

There is no option to do this in True Image.

Because this can take a long while if the full is large and you have many incremental (or differential) backup files, I normally perform validations on demand.

The option to only validate the current backup image file is long overdue.

I read somewhere in this forum that sometimes validation is not really reliable and I can atest to that. The person wrote that the sure way to ensure that you have a good backup is to restore your backup after you have created it. I think it's a dumb validation work around. However, I wouldn't mind a "fake restore" where ATI goes through the restoring process without really writing out to disk but I wondered if this is already the idea behind the validation process. Who knows?

I would really appreciate a really reliable validation since I lost a few backups that were validated as good. It's frustrating to lose you backups when you're counting on them to save your butt.

Doremi,
In my opinion, your best chance of a validated backup to be really valied would be to perform valiodations when booted from the Recovey CD which would be used in the restore process. This process would best replicate the process used in the restore.
