howto configure TI_2010 for backup generations and/or rolling history

Thread needs solution

This thread is a howto question for the reconmended method(s) use acronis TI_2010

My business need for restoring  from backups is at all times to be able to restore to "x" days ago.

For the purposes of discussion lets say x is 30.

So at any given day of the year I want to be assured that I could restore any file, or the entire HD to how it looked on a yesterday, last week, or any day prior upto 30.

I don't know if this was the "best" way, but in TI version 11 here is how I accomplished the above.

I had just two jobs:
Job #1 was backup that only ran on the 1st day of the month.
This job did a full backup of the HD putting the the TIB file into a folder called "A"
This job had pre-procssing step which called a dos batch script I wrote.
This batch file DELETED all files found in folder "B", it then MOVED all the files from "A" into "B"
This of course means that folder "A" is now empty and ready to receive the next full backup.
Job #2 was backup that run daily and did an incremental backup of the HD putting the TIB file in folder "A"

The end result was I could ALWAYS restore any any file or even the entire HD to any point in time up to 30 days ago.  If the calander was close to end of month I could go back almost 60 days but regardless of what was the date I could always go back at least 30.

My question/issue is What are the reconmended method(s) in TI_2010 to meet this business need?
V11 really did not have a catalog of backups taken but it appears TI_2010 does,
to what degree do I need to be concerned with (or use) this catalog?

Are you aware that ABR10 standalone workstation has thistype of option built in?

I think with 2010,  you would need to activate the 'Create a new full backup after.......' option, then create a task that runs for arguments sake monthly, that would then create a new full backup AND delete the previous archive.

Note that if you accept the use of the 'My Backups' folder, the date will be automatically prepended to your file name.
