Huge time to verify on restore?

Thread needs solution

Win7/Acronis true image home 10

The daily backup job is optioned to verify. The job backs up the entire disk and is not incremental. However, when attempting a restore of same, the dialogue box starts out saying something to the effect Acronis is verifying (yet again) the file and that the time to do so is 1 day + n hours--this is before the restore begins I suspect. The restore is coming from my wife's computer but that shouldn't have much to do with this time since the backup doesn't take more than several hours. The data disk is only ~60 or 70 GB.

I do not remember a restore taking this huge amount of time previously (I very seldom have the need to restore).

Can someone enlighten me on this?

Validating prior to restore is a restore option. Maybe it is set?

Are you using the TI CD? Linux can be quite slow on some operations over a network. I've seen backups proceed normally and validations/restores slow to a crawl (this isn't limited to TI).

Are you using TI 10 or TI 2010? TI 10 is quite old now and does not support Windows 7. In any case, make sure you're using the latest build for your version -- could be a driver issue.

Sometimes it's faster to copy an image to a USB drive and restore it from there than to use the network.
