Hybrid HD

Thread needs solution

I just bought a Samsung Series 7 which has a Hybrid HD (1 TB). I plan on partitioning the 100G as C: and the remainder as a data partition D:. I would like to use True Image to backup my boot C: drive. Will the fact that it is a Hybrid HD require any special procedure?

Hello Lance,

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here!

We do not expect any issues with Hybrid HD, but if you're unsure whether you would like to use our software or not, I would recommend you to test it (choose Download free trial button to the right) before making a decision.

It's trial version is valid for 30 days, and almost full functional (check the trial limitations right here). You will also have access to support via chat and e-mail during the trial period for any your questions or concerns.

Let us know if you would like to know something else, we will be glad to help you.

Thank you.

lance,
If you do not already own TrueImage, one of the things you might want to consider is to go ahead and purchase the software without using or installing the trial version. Acronis has a 30 day refund from date of order.

As an owner, you could download the bootable media iso download. Once downloaded, you could then burn the iso as an image onto a CDR disk. This newly made bootable media would be the same as if made from the installed version. The newly made TrueImage bootable media could then be used to do whatever you want done on your computer without TrueImage being installed.

With the CD, you could create a backup of your existing system and restore that onto the hybrid. Or, if you are starting from scratch with a fresh install, you could complete the Windows install and then use the CD to make a backup of your new system before installing TrueImageHome.

My major point is that if possible, try to get a backup of your system before installing TrueImage so you have a pristine backup which you can always use as a restore mechanism.

I am not suggesting this procedure because of the hybrid or Acronis but believe it should be a standard procedure for any new user installing backup software. Having a pristine backup can be a very important asset should the need arise.
