I do not find "Format" the c drive & does recover will automatically do that before install from back up?

Thread needs solution

I have a back up on an external HD [Image] using my Acronis True Image Home 2012.

Now when I boot using the Acronis recovery disc on my Dell computer I get to
1.Recover
2.Windows

I choose the option to Recover. I could find my External HD that has my back up.

Now when I choose to back up the whole image.... Would that automatically format my C drive, prior to put my image back up from the external HD. I do not get an option to format my internal HD [C drive in my case]

Thank you for your answer.

You don't need to reformat the disk/partition when you restore the entire disk/partition.

Arunachalam:

You do not need to format a disk or partition before restoring your image to it. You can restore to a completely blank hard disk if you wish. If you restore to a disk that already contains information, then that information will be replaced with the contents of your backup. In either case, formatting is not required before restoring an image.
