I just need and Image!

Thread needs solution

I'm about to give up here, so I'm hoping someone can lend-a-hand and direct me to the steps to do this:

I simply want one "image" "file" of my hard drive...a single file of my HD that is an image, not a hard drive duplicate full of all the files from my drive. I need the file to be moved from disk to disk as a single file. Is this possible with Acronic...I heard it was but cannot find a way to do it? The file will then be used to create clones; HDs that will be duplicates, but the image will be stored when not creating clone HDs.

Yes, what you are describing is one of the easiest backups possible using TrueImageHome. You can do this type backup from inside Windows or when booted from the TI Rescue CD. Just be sure and check mark the disk so all partitions are included within the backup.

Be sure your disk where your backups are stored is NTFS to keep entire backup as one file. If the destination is FAT32, it will split at 4G regardless.

Don't forget. Creating the backup is only the first half of the job. The 2nd half is to boot from the Rescue CD and restore some files to make sure the CD will see all your drives as at least a small proof that it will function properly when needed. The best test is to restore an entire disk as a test disk restore.
