I need help uninstalling TrueImage 9.1 server from win2008R2- only partially installed

Thread needs solution

I tried installing our older version of TrueImage 9.1 on a 2008r2 server.  It only partially installed  (created the acronis_vss_profider service; and copied the Snapman.sys to the Drivers store.  This is not digitally signed, so I am having boot up issues on this server now.

I tried to uninstall, but that isn't working, since the install never finished.

Do I have to manually remove that snapman.sys file, and manually remove the service?

Better ways?

thanks

Jim, please see the following items before trying to manually remove the Snapman.sys driver:

https://forum.acronis.com/forum/11748 which refers to:
https://kb.acronis.com/content/1620 which has instructions specific to different Windows releases.

Thanks for the links.....

So If I delete the upper limit entries in the registry , and manually remove the serivce,  should I reboot before removing the system files?

I don't want to hang the server.

Jim, I would recommend making a backup of the registry before making any changes, or at least export the sections that you are changing / removing, then restart the server before removing the system files, and at that stage, I would suggest renaming the files rather than deleting them, i.e. rename Snapman.sys to such as 00Snapman.sys.

Thanks for all the advice.   Sounds good.

After I did the install of 9.1 (it created the non-signed drivers    snapman.sys, and thus the server wouldn't reboot.

I don't want to replicate the problem when I reboot again.
