I Trashed ATI 2015, But I LOVE ATI 2016

Thread needs solution

I was one of the many annoyed customers who updated to ATI 2015 and almost immediately regretted it. Many reasons for that, but one example was that the "Try & Decide" feature had been removed without giving us any notice whatsoever that was going to happen. If I had known, I never would have updated to 2015 in the first place. And then it was a nightmare trying to uninstall 2015 to get back to 2014. I was very frustrated and so were many other customers on this forum.

To make a long story short, one of the Acronis support reps convinced me to try the 2016 version and I am VERY glad I did! The difference b/t ATI 2015 and the new ATI 2016 is like night and day - not even close! The 2016 version has a clean look but incorporates many powerful tools into each screen. The 2015 version had a clean look but that's ALL it had - now powerful tools included. Also, the 2016 version has many great features added back into the software like the "Try & Decide" feature which had inexplicably been stripped out of 2015. Woo Hoo! And ATI 2016 is VERY fast! And it supports Windows 10 and mobile devices. For as much as I trashed that awful ATI 2015, I have to give sincere praise about this new ATI 2016 version. It is really nice software. If you gave up with Acronis after the 2015 version, I strongly encourage you to give the 2016 version a try - I really don't think you'll be disappointed. -Mickey

Before purchasing True Image 2016, I recommend downloading the 30 day trial first. I want to stress that the 30 day trial includes 30 days of support. Please contact support and submit feedback for any issues you encounter. This is the best way to your bring your concerns to the attention of the individuals who can address them. The forum is NOT your primary support channel and is not frequently visited by support staff. Before installing 2016, make a full disk mode backup with your current version so that you can easily roll back if the uninstall goes wrong. My personal experience with 2016 has been very bug ridden, but your mileage may vary. You should check out the 2016 forum for a good idea of what to expect.

Some features that True Image 2016 is still lacking:
Ability to restore GPT partitions in the correct order on a new disk.
Ability to mount backups in read and write mode.
Meaningful error messages.
User friendly access to log files.
Ability to edit a backup task that produces predictable results.
Ability to manage and delete individual backups from a task without breaking the task.
32 bit UEFI WinPE plugin for Windows tablets.

Here are some screenshots showing the minor cosmetic differences in the user interface.

My first experience with Acronis was with TIH 2015 and I have to say that I've been incredibly disappointed with it. There appear to be posts in the forums about earlier versions being much better but based on my experience I will never buy an Acronis product again.

Acronis, if you want to repair the damage that TIH 2015 caused, provide the upgrade to 2016 for free.

Regards,
Ian

I completely agree with you. The 2015 version simply suxx, I deeply regret that I've bought that upgrade without trying it before. I consistently bought the upgrades since the 2011 version and I was never disappointed, except for the 2015 version. Unfortunately I've realised my mistake too late and I missed the due date for refund (I was lazy to install it quickly because the v2014 worked perfectly).

I also feel Acronis should give free upgrade to v2016 for the unlucky customers of v2015. Currently I'm looking for other backup solutions, because I won't pay again 50+ dollars for the v2016 just to fix the mess they did with v2015.

Regards,
Adam

It reads well but I am completely sure that Acronis 2016 must be the same SHIT as the previous version. To be honest, I was not able to try it out because always when I wanted to upgrade to the newer version, Acronis got frozen. Believe me, I haven't seen such buggy commercial software in my life. Acronis company is a group of swindlers that completely ignore customers complaints' and needs at the expense of their profit. How can anyone trust this piece of shit that is in the reliability and functionality inferior to the standard Windows backup tools. I just don't undestarstand. On top of that, you don't even have any support.
