I want to do a CLONE DISK to change a 1Tb/5400rpm by 750Gb/7200 HD.

Thread needs solution

Acronis True Image - ATI

Apparently the whole operation (4 steps) was all completed correctly.
1. clone mode (automatic)
2. source definition
3. destination definition
4. finish

In the last step was requested a reboot of the system. I imagined that the ATI would start the clone task in DOS mode however nothing happened and windows 8 entered without any memories I had asked for a disk cloning.

What is happening?

It is correct ATI to request reboot? What should happen after reboot?

In windows 8 I should run the ATI as an administrator? Besides installing as administrator I should configure something else?

TIA

Your best chance of success will be to perform the clone from the bootable Rescue Media.

Are you using the most current build of 2013 (6514)?

Yes my ATI is marked with 2013 build (6514).
I bought my package through the web.

The company sent me the link to download the installer.

In the following section I also downloaded an ISO file which is a bootable version of the software.

Is this ISO file that you call the "Bootable Rescue Media"?

Yes, the ISO can be burned to disk (CD/DVD) to be used as a standalone (bootable) copy of True Image for backup and restore/recovery.

James F , first of all I want to thank you for the answers and help that you have given me.

I recorded a bootable DVD (with downloaded iso file) and gave starting with Acronis True Image from it.

Initially all went well.

Regarding the CLONE operation I chose the Automatic mode, and when I went to set the source disk, I found the following table and could not go ahead.

Drive............................................................Capacity.........Model....................................................................Interface
Disk 2...........................................................8 Gb...............iswstripe...............................................................RAID
Disk3 - Unsuported.......................................931.5 Gb.......iswstripe................................................................RAID
Disk4.............................................................698.6 Gb.......ST9750422AS........................................................USB
Disk5.............................................................1.819 Tb........Seagate FA GoFlexDesk........................................USB

My goal is to clone the hard disk 3 to 4, and when I select disk 3 as source, the software (ATI) tells me that it can not copy a blank disc!

Why ATI is indicating disk 3 as unsupported?

Why ATI is considering disk 3 as empty?

Is there some setting that I have to do into notebook bios setup that modifies this scenario?

TIA

marcos,

Can you open Windows Disk Management and post two screen shots. One as it come up, and then choose VIEW/TOP/DISK LIST?

What make / model is your laptop?

Is it running Intel® Smart Response Technology / Intel Rapid Storage Technology?
