If my hard drive crashes, and dell sends me a new one, what do I do

Thread needs solution

So I have quite a few programs and all of my data for my college career on this computer. Since it is finals/project are due in 2 weeks, I dont have too much time to re-install everything on a new hard-drive. Dell is sending me a replacement hard-drive in the next week due to some problems with the current one. I have created the Full-disk backup including all of hte partitions and also the Recovery Bootable Disc. What do I do when the new hard drive is installed in this computer? If I boot with the True Image cd, will it be able to recover all of the files and software saved as disk images? Where do I go from here?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this.

The only way to tell if a backup/imaging program can restore on your machine is to do a restore or at the very least go through all the steps right up to the final proceed. If ATI, under the Boot Cd can see all your disks and read the backup file, then yes, you should be able to restore tall the partitions and files therein. If the new didsk is a diff size -- not uncommon these days under warranty replacement -- then use manual resize when you restore. Check out the Stickies for Grover's manuals and the User Guide would be a good thing to read too.

On an external hard drive... Also, I am completely new to this program... so it is really confusing to me right now

Grover's guides are featured on this forum
In items 7a and 7b there are three PDF hyperlinks print them.

You will find step by step instructions for everything you are about to do.
the guides are for an older version but ALL the concepts still apply.
The screens may look slightly different but the basic premis, technique and steps apply.
I have used these guides several times you should enjoy 100% success.

Before you remove the old drive and if it still boots, use Windows Explorer to copy all important data over to the external drive, even though it is contained in the Image you made. With it copied using WE, you at least will have it in native format in case a restore of the Image isn't successful.

And to restore the Image to the new drive, make the bootable True Image Rescue cd as you will use it to do the restore to the new drive. Look among the menu items for "Make Bootable Rescue Media" or words to that effect.
