I'm having Activation problems.

I am having trouble completing the activation step.  The computer is Win 7 Home Premium.

I am trying to add another Acronis True Image 2015 for my 4th computer.  The computer had a previous installation (1 of 3) which was disabled when I moved the serial number to a different computer. 

The new serial number has been added to my list at Acronis.  I have uninstalled the old Acronis installation on the computer.  I have downloaded the latest installation file using the button associated with the new serial number record.  I have used the new installation file to download a new Acronis 2015.  The Acronis files appear in the correct folders.  As far as I know they look complete.   It is build 6613.

When I try to start the application I get a page which says that activation is required.  The installation instructions say that activation is automatic if the computer is connected to the internet - the computer is connected.  Activation has not occurred after several hours.   There is a button which says 'Activate Now.'  Nothing happens when this is pushed.  I've even disabled the Norton 360 for periods after hitting the 'Activate Now' button.  I've tried the Activate on-line' button before but the installation code was rejected.  I was very careful in how the installation code was typed.  I also did a copy and paste using a flash drive with the same results. 

Question:  What am I doing wrong?  When should I expect the activation download from Acronis?  What do I have to do to get the activation downloaded?

Hi James,

Activation is not quite automatic when connected to the Internet, you would need to log in with your online account first and then it will activate - have you done that yet?  If not, go to the account tab in the application and sign in and that should activate it.

If you don't want to log in, you don't have to though.  In that case, you'd have to manually provide the key, which would also take place on the account tab of the application.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I'll give them a try later and report back.  Hopefully, it will work.  I do want to get it activated because I want to complete a Windows 7 backup before I update to Windows 10 (I know they say it is reversible but I'm being overcautious).

 

I hear you.  I would backup before the upgrade too.

FYI, if you have existing bootable recovery media from a previous version of Acronis (since this is yourth 4th computer), you can always take an offline backup (which I'd recommend anyay).  IF you're not familiar with the process, you need to be.  What would you do if you couldn't boot into windows in the first place (youd' need bootable recovery media to resore an image).

Hello I installed the SW Acronis true image 2016 , but in the Account screen I see the activation is not OK. I tried to generate manually an activation code inserting the license code, as requested, in the field.

The message I receive is " The istallation code is uncorrect"

Couls someone help me ?
