I'm looking for a clone/backup solution
I'm looking for a clone/backup solution for my PC's & I have a questions about Acronis TI.
Let's say I have a disk image on an external drive & my C: drive crashes & I need to replace the C: drive with a new drive (probably a larger & faster drive) will the TI disk image restore to this new drive or is there something in the s/ware that says this is not the original drive therefore it will not restore.
I will download & try the demo but this question above is a very important issue for me.
Thank You

craig,
The heart and soul of Trueimage Home is that it can perform backups and recover your backups overtop the old drive to to a new larger drive. It can perform the clone operation as well.
When moving to a new drive of any size, it is best that your backup be one that includes all partitions on the old disk. You want the backup to include any boot or hidden or diagnostic partitions. You can create the backup from within Windows or when booted from the Rescue CD. Many feel that creating a backup when booted from the Cd is the safest backup as Windows is not involved.
Any restoration of your system drive to a new disk or when cloning should be performed when booted from the TI Rescue CD.
