Image ssd drive

Thread needs solution

Hi. I'm about to replace my HD with and SSD. I'd like to partition my SSD and have a dual win 7 OS setup. Once I've installed win7 base install with drivers on the first partition can I create and image and dump it on the second partition? Would save a bit of time.

I know I can do this with HDDs and have done so lots but not sure if it works ok with SSDs and alignment and such.....

Currently have true image 2010 but would be happy to upgrade if that will help.

If you restore a full disk image of an aligned disk, your restored disk will be aligned.
If you restore a partition on a aligned partition, it will remain aligned.
In doubt with 2010, you can prepartition the disk with diskpart, then restore the partitions, finally the MBR+track0.
