Images on CDs

Thread needs solution

Hi,

For years I´m recording images of my XP on CDs with Acronis 10.0.
Nothing substantial was changed at the computer and the data
set is almost the same.

Suddenly, the program stops arbitrary in the first or third, etc. CD
with messages like: "Can not access hard drive, or CD of poor
quality," etc.

The CD drive is fine.
The burning rate is unchanged.
The CDs from various manufacturers are new.
The hard disk is checked.
Images on the external hard drive and on the Secure Zone are
successful.
A new installation of Acronis 10.0 did no change.
An installation of Acronis 2009 also changed nothing.
An image from the rescue-CD brings the same error message.
A test with Ghost 15.0 gave the error message "image can not be
created".

Who can tell me please, what could be the problem?

Thank you!

Since you can make images on the HD and an external, failure with TI and Ghost, my first suspect is the CD drive. Are you really using CDs or do you mean DVDs?

I'd access an image file (because they are large) and burn it to the CD using your burining program like Nero or whatever. Make sure the "verify after burning " option is selected. If it doesn't write or verify then I'd try a new CD/DVD drive.

Hi Seekforever,

Yes, there are CDs.
I do not have Nero, etc.
But I'm going to buy a new CD driver.

Thank you!
