Imaging drive issues

Thread needs solution

Hello. I am trying to image my C drive to a new one. The one installed is about 100GB and the new one is 1TB. The former is SATA, the later is SATA attached via USB at the moment.

I've tried twice now (once automatic, once manual) to image the drive. It reboots, runs through a status progress, and I get a message saying everything worked fine. When I boot up, however, the new drive is blank. It appears that the partition structure transferred, but *no* data is on the drive whatsoever.

I cannot get through to support, so I am posting here. Any assistance would really be helpful. Thanks.

Hello Dan,

I will do our best to resolve the issue you experience.

Actually the issue concerns attached USB drive. If there is any type of USB storage device attached to the machine during the cloning or restore process the issue you experience take place. If possible attach second SATA drive directly to the computer and repeat Clone once again.

As a workaround, you can try performing the same operation from Acronis Bootable Rescue Media. Check user guide for more information how to create Acronis bootable disc.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.
