[IMPLEMENTED] Allow Disk Director 12 and Acronis TrueImage 2015 (or future) to convert from MBR to GPT without data loss
I have noticed that it still not possible to convert a drive from MBR scheme to GPT (or vice versa) without the circumstance without loosing data. Which is basically also a drawback of Microsofts Diskpart.
This is really curious, because I found a free tool named "minitool Parition Wizard Home Edition" with appears like a Acronis clone and is capable of this vital feature. It is even possible to do live without rebooting on non-system drives.
It is a bit embarrasing that a free tool offers a functionality that Acronis as a paid and more recognized tool does not.
This said it is not even impossible to do so, because there is also possibility to use and MBR to GPT conversion using a Linux without any data loss.
I suggest you to implement this feature with an update or next version of DD or TI.
In addition it would be very very appreciated if you can introduce an BIOS to UEFI partition scheme converter.
Means to offer an assistant to allow users to easily convert their classic Windows 8.x / 10 installation from an BIOS / non UEFI partition scheme (MBR) to an UEFI compliant GPT scheme (Windows 64bit installation is technically required, but this can be checked easily).
I have made this successfully with the referenced how-to's
