Incremental backup problem
Hello
I have Acronis True Image Home 2011 and Windows 7 64bit. The options are as follows. See screenshot backup_schema in attachment.
I have made a full disk backup and after that an incremental one. So I have the following two files. See screenshot backup in the attachment.
I restored the full backup, but now I have also the changes from the incremental one. I also mounted the full backup and browsed the files and I saw that there are also included the changes from the incremental one.
Can I also restore the last backup and not previous versions (like the full backup)? What did I wrong? It seems that the incremental backup also wrote into the full backup. This would explain the long time the incremental backup took.

inc1 is only 200MB as you can see in my screenshot. But it took a lot of time do create the inc1, it was working as long as for the full backup. I'm pretty sure that there was no consolidatation. As you can see on my screenshot I did not check the option for consolidation and I also did not a consolidation manually. And I also thinkt that I did not do a new full backup. The only thing I did was that I created a full backup (a make a task for it) and later I restored the backup and then I again run the task. So it should have done a incremental backup.
My settings in backup_schema.jpg are ok?

Kurt,
Yes your scheme looks OK. You will get one full, then 5 incrementals for a chain of 6 backups total. ATI will execute 5 chains, then will do the 6th full backup, then delete the first chain.
