Incremental backups don't seem to be incremental
I have Acronis True Image Home 2011, and am trying to do incremental file backups.
I am trying to back up the contents of a 64 GB SD card that I use for storing music,
Seems pretty straightforward, I select File Backup under More Features, unselect the C: drive, select the F: (Removable Disk) drive, the Destination is D:\My backups, my USB connected 2 TB drive.
Then in Backup Scheme I select Version Chain and select the Custom Scheme option from the Version Chain Scheme drop-down. Then under Backup Method I selected Full the first time I did it, then OK.
It took over and hour to backup 49.2 GB.
Then as a test I deleted some music files from the disk, and ran it again, this time selecting Incremental instead of Full on the last step. It took over an hour, which it seems is way too long for doing an incremental backup on a disk that was hardly changed.
So I re-read the instructions, and decided that perhaps I should select Incremental for the first full backup, then do it again after deleting some music files. But I got the same result. Took over an hour to do an incremental backup, and instead of a small file to store the difference between the initial backup and the current one, it takes a whole hour and the backup is now slightly less than 49.2 GB, because I removed some files.
There seems to be some basic misunderstanding on my part, yet the process looks straightforward.
What am I missing?

Ran a third time, same results.
I can't seem to get incremental backup to work.
What next?

It seems that others have had similar problems. In my case, both drives are on the same computer, so the eventual solution here does not apply to me.
