Incremental failed

Thread needs solution

I'm a new True Image 2011 user. Installed about a week ago. I've done a few backups that seemed to work okay, but the last incremental on a files and folders backup failed with error "Failed to open file '{0}' for reading.Error:{1}" Event code 0x000B03E9. The knowledge base says sorry no info about this error.

My question is, when an error like this occurs on an incremental, is there no point in continuing the chain because it's corrupted? Should a new chain be started? Is True Image smart enough to backup the files that got missed in the last failed incremental on the next incremental?

Well no responses. Is there any way to restart the chain without deleting the current backup definition and redefining it?

Is it possible that some background task was accessing the drive at the same time TI was trying to gain access, such as a background defrag program or database?

Try running the task manually see what happens.

Defrag, no. Email program possibly. After reading the manual, True Image is supposed to be able to deal with background file tasks gracefully.

I believe this should enable you to delete the most recent incremental.

I'm getting the same issue now. I've stopped and restarted Acronis, deleted old backups, made sure I had plenty of disk space. This is a very uninformative message because there's no information on what file is actually being accessed, or even the folder that file is in. Any other recommendations?

Kevin,
Suggest you uninstall TrueImage and check to make sure all the old Acronins folders have been deleted.
Then reinstall again and make sure you are using the most current which is 6696 for 2011.
