Incremental Restore Problem

Thread needs solution

I did a Full System Backup on FEB 15/2010. I failed to do an Incremental backup until MAR 9/2010. When I did the Incremental I got an error message, hoped it was minor ,and went on. Now I have a problem!!!

I did a Full Restore back to FEB 15/2010 and all is well up to that point. But, I am having difficulty getting all back from the Incremental done on MAR 9/2010. I have found the following messages:

Corrupt Archive: E0070020
Module Error Code
Error 7, 32 (0x70020)
Error 1, 502 (0x101F6)
Error 100, 0 (0x640000)

When I try to restore the Incremental of MAR 9/2010 it shows that it will take 1 DAY AND 12 HOURS to restore but eventually freezes and I have to reboot. I have tested restoring a few folders one at a time and that seems to work but I am thinking that if I knew what to uncheck (that is part of the Corrupt Archive/Module Error Code) then I might be able to get back nearly everything. Another guess is that I might be able to restore all the folders and disregard things that are not in folders (they show up as blue text and do not have any idea what they relate to) and get nearly everything back.

Does anyone know or can you suggest something to try or do?

I am using TI 9.0 Build 3677

Thanks

Hello blair,

No worries, I will help you out.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to detect any corrupted part or element from the archive. Corruption itself means that current backup checksum does not match with the one stored right after its creation. Please check my recommendations below:

Please note that corrupted archives could be created because there are some bad sectors or unreadable data resides on your HDD.

Please perform the following operations:

-Check the disks for errors

Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r"
where DISK is the partition letter you need to check. Please note, that
checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

-Change the backup location (for example save your backup to the internal HDD instead external)

-Please try to perform the operations using Acronis Bootable Media. To create it please follow: Tools -> Create bootable rescue media. Then boot your machine from it and you will be able to use Acronis True Image Home without booting any OS.
Acronis Bootable Rescue Media is a standalone version of Acronis True Image Home, burned onto a CD and based on a Linux operating system.

I'd like to make sure all your queries regarding Acronis products are resolved.
Additionally to this, you are welcome to ask me any other questions concerning Acronis, and I will assist you further.

Thank you.
