Incremental saves: how to force a new start ?

Thread needs solution

Hi there,

I am doing incremental saves of my system, with no consolidations options.

Sometimes, I want to start over a new incremental save from a new complete save. When I rollback, or when my changes are stables.

If I delete previous saves files on the disk, Acronis still consider that the first save date is the day the first complete save occurs. Same if I clone the save and delete the old one (acronis interface).

Exemple:
- Novembre 16 I made my first save
- To dec 04: incremental saves
- Dec 05: rollback, delete everything, make a new complete save
- Dec 12: rollback, acronis has in his list save1@16/11/11

It does not prevent me from restoring actually. But I would like to have something clean.
So, how can I force a new complete save, without having to create a new save in acronis interface ?

Thanks

I think the is will work. Move the existing full/incs to another location. manually Start the task to create a backup -- ATI will probably treat the task as having to make a new set, starting with a full, as it will identify the existing backup files as not belonging to the same task.
If yo get a new full backup, then you can safely delete the older set of backup files.

The ability to restart or reset a task has been a request for other users in the past but so far, this option has never reached reality.

Scott:

It actually works when you want to restore your file. But you have to cheat with Acronis as he will first ask for your very first save.

Grover: Thanks for answering, so the only way is to consolidate, or start over a new task if I want to rollback before.
