incremental vs full

Thread needs solution

Have a backup scheduled. It's set to do 10 incrementals before the next full. But I started it today and it did a full instead. Only have done like 3 incrementals so far.

Was trying to figure out why. There were a LOT of changes and additions before this backup. If the incremental is a 'big' change, does it decide to do a full on it's own? If that isn't possible, perhaps I was looking into the settings of the backup and saved it. Maybe it reset it back to do a full?
What do you all think?

It is possible for an incremental to look like a full image, especially after running a defragmenter or deleting large files.

The only way to tell will be to click on Recover and highlight that archive. You will then see if TI states the image is a full or an incremental.

The above is assuming you are using TI 2009 or 2010.

The file you think might be a new full, does it have a number after the file name (excluding the date if activated)?
