Initial NSB fails 1/2 way through

Windows 7 Ultimate, 32 bit
Acronis True Image 2011 build 6619

Running the initial NSB, it pauses a few hours into it. Happens everytime.

Windows error log shows:

Try first to run the installer again and choose repair. If that doesn't fix it, then:
- using Tools, export your backup settings,
- uinstall ATI 2011,
- run the CleanUp Utility (see stickies at the beginning of the forum)
- reboot,
- reinstall,
- import your backup settings back.

Much appreciated. I didn't know I could export my backup settings, so I was really hesitant to reinstall.

OK - I re-installed, and re-ran the initial NSB. The backup of settings did not backup the NSB backup settings. So that appears to be a bug. Luckilly I remembered how I set it up.

It took 17 hours, and then I noticed that NSB was paused (the log said it was complete).

I hit the play button and it started again, this time it estimates about 11 hours to complete.

I don't understand what it's doing because no data on the drive that was being backed up had changed. I would assume that after the initial backup, the thing would just run continuously, rather than do another backup.

Should I just cancel it and start over, yet again? What's it doing now?

OK - so not being sure of what was happening, I deleted the backup and re-started it. It got about 1/3 of the way through and presto, the same error again. Argh this is frustrating.

Did you delete the temporary folder where the backup is stored? It should be cleared when you delete the backup, but check.

Delete your NSB from ATI.

Make sure you can see hidden folders. Navigate to the drive that is the destination of your non-stop backup. YOu should see a "Time Explorer Storage" folder. Delete the folder.

Restart ATI. Try the NSB again.

The error says that NSB is crashing. I don't know why.

If the procedure above doesn't fix it and a reinstall didn't fix it, you should file a support ticket.
