Installation CD boot: No mouse, no keyboard
[x] I've read the "13234: GETTING STARTED. READ BEFORE YOU POST!" (and many others about similar issues) thread.
Hi,
I bought Acronis True Image Home 2001 Plus. From time to time I want to boot from CD and create an image of my PC that shall be placed on a Synology NAS Box.
But after booting my mouse and keyboard are dead. Weird thing: The mouse may work sometimes, but the keyboard never.
I tried safe mode, keyboard works here, but no network access.
I activated USB legacy support in BIOS which lead to no change but Acronis not finding hard drives anymore (after that message Acronis reboots, performs some kind of full scan and then finds the drives, but still no keyboard).
Actually, I consider my hardware to be pretty common:
Mainboard: ASUS P7P55D-E EVO
Keyboard: Logitech G15
Mouse: Logitech G500
As the hardware is neither exotic nor brand new, I am a bit surprised to face this problem.
I do not want to install the software as I want to keep the OS as "clean" as possible and did not yet learn about the features that might change my mind. Also, I want to be sure to have proper boot media, because backups are pretty useless unless you can restore them.
Is there any chance to get that running?

Hello Ralph and James!
Thank you for finding time to open the thread regarding the problem, and for your comments.
James, thank you for your assistance!
Raplh, you're right, the setup you're using is pretty common, and there should be no issues with it. I cannot say for sure without sufficient investigation information, but it looks like some bootmedia kernel drivers conflict. As a solution I'd advise you to download from your account an alternative bootable media in *.iso format, which's built on another loader. Just burn it onto the CD, and check whether the issue remains.
Should it be present, please gather Acronis Linux Report and send it to me via Private Message. This log will help us to localize the cause and find out what exact drivers its missing.
I would appreciate if you could keep me posted regarding this problem. I'll be waiting for your reply.
Should you have any additional questions or concerns, let me know!
Thank you.

I've tried the new image and found that there is no safe mode anymore, so I tested with full mode only. The behaviour is almost the same as before. I also tried to unplug and replug mouse and keyboard without success.
With the new image the keyboard works, so I could generate an image. As I am used to an older version of Acronis Server I noticed that the behaviour of keyboard navigation changed and that, with all that light blue and white, you can hardly see where the focus is currently. Thus I accidently opened help and didn't manage to close that window anymore (ALT-F4, CTRL-F4, left ALT for menu and so on).
Afterwards I generated the report and will PM it now.
Thanks again for taking the time to help me!
I wish you merry christmas and hope you're going to enjoy some wonderful days now. :-)
