Installation over TI 2014

Thread needs solution

The Acronis information says that you can just install TI 2015 over TI 2014 without any problems. They have said this for previous versions, but generally I have hand problems. So before I do this, I have a few questions.

1. Is it safe to install over 2014?

2. What happens to scheduled backups?
(In the past, I have had to set up new backups and the ones I have are no longer useful. Is this still the case?)

3. If installing over 2014 is OK, are there any particular precautions?

Thank you.

I just installed 2015 over 2014. Scheduled backups and all settings came in fine. No problems detected so far.

Charles,
The installation of upgrading overtop a prior version is not the same for all and not predictable.
Certainly one rule applies and that is to do a full and complete backup BEFORE you upgrade (by whatever means) so you have the capability of restoring your system backup to what it was prior to any changes.

Personally, I prefer to start fresh with a new installation and create all new tasks so my backups begin each with a new full backup.
When installation a new version (not a new build of the same version) , I prefer to uninstall first and run a clean installation. If I have troubles, I will go back and run the cleanup utility and do another fresh installation.

It is a matter of choice. Acronis says an uninstall is not necessary if the install is over a very recent version prior version.
