Installation problems with 2010

Thread needs solution

I've tried 3 times now to install 2010 and each time it gets near the end then rolls back and says you need to start the installer again! Well I did and the last time I right clicked and chose run as admin., and still it failed to install.

What am I doing wrong? Or what do I need to do to get this installed.

I knew I should have waited a few days!

Can't guarantee anything but here's what I would try. First uninstall previous version first if you already haven't (assuming you have it). Next I would download the latest copy of CCleaner it's a great free program to use regularly regardless.

Cleanup all the temp files and run it again to clean up the registry (rerun it on the reg cleanup several times as it won't always catch everything on the first time you use it). It's not too aggressive so don't worry about backing anything up contrary to what the program might tell you.

Another thing to try is disable your anti-virus program during the install, just in case.

Then try to re-installing TI-2010 again.  Hope this helps?

You also might want to run the Acronis Clean-Up Utility after uninstalling just in case there are any leftovers.

Well something worked after a few reboots and uninstalling and ending task on a few items it finally  installed.

I really should learn to wait a few days before upgrading, but!!! Love the bleeding edge...(Anyone remember over clocking?).

Thanks for the help both of you so far, Rich

PS After the backup completes I'm going to uninstall and run the clean up utility, reboot reinstall reboot....damn more reboots than the last 4 months in one day. Normally I don't have to reboot until windows updates so I go from update tuesday to update tuesday....not this month!! LOL
