Installer of Bld#7046 aborted right away

Thread needs solution

I downloaded the installer for Build#7046 of True Image 2010.
When launching the installer, it is aborted immediately. A message appears originated from Acronis.

See this scrreenshot / attachment.

What can I do ?

Maybe I download the wrong update ? I doubt it. The download passes through the process of account login and through the registered products identification.

Thank you for advices.

Hello Georges,

We're really sorry for the difficulties you've experienced.

Let me assist you.

First of all I may suggest you to check MD5 checksum of the downloaded file to make sure it's not corrupted.

  • Download a free checksum utility from http://www.irnis.net/files/xcsci.exe
  • Unpack and run the application. Browse and select the installation package you have downloaded;
  • Click the "Start" button;
  • The MD5 value for Acronis True Image Home 2010 build #7046 must be 0a7f53da49bf03c45b8cb381999d64c4

If the MD5 value is not 0a7f53da49bf03c45b8cb381999d64c4 then you need to re-download your Acronis product.

If MD% checksum is correct, please temporarily disable any firewall/antivirus software and try to install Acronis True Image again.

Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists.

Thank you.

It's a little bit of more work but not hard and not much:

use msconfig.exe to disable all nonMicrosoft services and all startup programs, reboot, if any version of ATI is installed then uninstallin, then try the instal again, return the services and startup progs after the installation is complete, and reboot.

You can get info on using msconfig here:
http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/index.html

Sometimes other progs interfere with theinstaller -- most often, security software as Ilya pointed out, but others can sometimes cause probs.

If it doesn't help, then you will probably need to contact tech support, provide Tech with some machine info as they will instruct, and take it fro there. Msconfig is an easy way to avoid having to contact Tech and often it's just the ticket for problem installs
