Intel Data Migration Tool - 96MB Offset???

Thread needs solution

1 I bought a new 520 Intel 240GB SSD and it comes with the "Powered by Acronis" data migration software. I used it to migrate the entire contents of my Vertex3 240G SSD to the Intel 240G. Afterward, I look at the partitions in Diskpart. There's the 95MB system reserve aligned at 1024K. But the primary partition is 223GB with a 96MB offset??? What's up with this? I've heard of 1024, 4096, etc., but 96MB? How do I fix this? Can I realign the partition without having to clean the disk & start all over with a fresh install of windows? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Anthony,

The offset is correct. 1MB+95MB is the distance between the beginning of the disk and the start of the partition: the offset.

Thanks for the response! Can you clarify one more thing? I understand the partition & offset now, but how does that relate to alignment? Is partition spacing always 1MB? The offset for partition 1 (95MB) is listed as 1024K. Is this the same thing as being 1024K aligned? Do they mean the same thing? Also, does this mean that all other partitions & spacing que off of the inital 1024K offset such that all partitions are considered to be 1024K aligned? I'm trying to understand the difference beewteen offset & alignment and their relationship to multiple partitions. Thanks again for your help!!!
