Intel (physical) 4 disks RAID5 not working with ATI 2011 with Plus Pack (build 6942)

Thread needs solution

I have ATI 2011 with Plus Pack (italian version)
Build 6868 worked fine with my hardware.
After upgrading to build 6942, the bootable media does not recognize my hardware anymore.
The new Linux core does not recognize my RAID5 disk on Intel ICH10R.
During boot, I get an explicit warning message; the message is about a missing OS module dealing with 4 disk RAID5. Later, I cannot see my RAID disk.

I need some suggestions:
1. Is it better for me to downgrade to version 6868 or simply use bootable media 6868 with window installation 6942?
2. Is the same Linux kernel used in some other environment? This should happen during a restore of the system disk, even from Windows: the PC needs to boot to a non Windows environment while restoring the system disk. If the Linux kernel does not work fine in this scenario, I would be locked in the middle of the restore process.
3. May I hope that Acronis will release a fix to the new, bad working, Linux kernel?
4. Would an upgrade to ATI 2012 solve the problem?

Thank you for every reply.

I thought RAID 5 wasn't supported in ati

I have been making backups of my RAID 5 system since 2009.
I have always regulary validated my bakups using the rescue disk.
I have tested the restore procedure stopping at one click from restoring.
It worked with ati WD edition and with ati home 2011 (build 6868 and previous).
The last Linux kernel, instead, does not see my RAID 5 disk.
It simply does not load the RAID 5 4 disk kernel module, saying it is not present.

The following kb articles state that the ONLY RAID configuration not supported by ati are the windows dynamic disks.
RAID 5 windows dynamic disks are not supported at all by ati.

My configuration is NOT based on windows dynamic disk (is an HW solution) and SHOULD be supported, as it was.

Probably, there was a misunderstanding of ati RAID 5 support during the compilation of the last Linux kernel.
I hope hw RAID 5 support will be working again, in future, as stated by kb articles.
On the contrary, I will be not able to buy next versions of ati anymore.

@Gianni, that's right!

The Rescue-Boot-CD created with TIH_2011, Build 6942, doesn't see all System-Drives; so I can't recover e.g. my System-Drive C:!
The Rescue-CD created with Build 6868 works fine; here I saw all my Drives (on the same Hardware)!

ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe with Intel RAID (without PlusPack, German Version); without dynamical Drives.

Additional information's to my post #3:

TIH 2011, Build 6868, Rescue-Boot-CD (works correct):
Search Backups show all my Partitions/Drives (Volume-Names with other Drive letters):
C:, D:. E: F: and H: (= Basic Drive, RAID 5, ~930 GB net);
G: (= Basic Drive, no-RAID, 'Backup'-Drive);
CD/DVD-Drives, FTP and Network.
If I e.g. select to recover my Boot-Drive C: (from 'Backup'-Drive), the Recovery-Assistant shows all correct settings to start the recovery.

TIH 2011, Build 6942, Rescue-Boot-CD (does NOT work correct):
Search Backups show only (Volume-Names with other Drive letters):
G: (= Basic Drive, no-RAID, 'Backup'-Drive);
CD/DVD-Drives, FTP and Network.
So the Partitions/Drives like C:, D:,E:, F: and H: are missing.
The consequences: If I select to recover my Boot-Drive C: (from 'Backup'-Drive), the Recovery-Assistant has no Defaults of 'Partition C'. And under 'New Storage Place' I can select my whole ~930 GB (RAID 5 - Partition), only.
So, no recoveries from C:, D:, E:, F: or H: (= RAID 5) are possible!

Remember: on the same / unchanged hardware.

Conclusion: If you will use Acronis True Image Home 2011, Build 6942, and you have a RAID, make sure, you have a working Rescue-Boot-CD from Build 6868!

Thanks a lot for the reply.
I will stay with version 6868 (both installation and Rescue Media).
