Internet Explorer crashing now after updating this morning

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I got a message saying there was a new version of Acronis 2015 to download so I downloaded and installed it.

Since then I have started having problems running Internet Explorer 11 on my windows 7 64 bit OS. It hangs. I can only run it as an Administrator.

I have rebooted several times and my Windows 7 OS is up to date with updates.

When I do run Acronis it show up in the processes window as TrueImage.exe *32.

I see a lot of *.32's in my processes list. I don't recall seeing so many but perhaps this is normal.

Could there be something in todays build that caused this?

Thanks for any info.

Steve

Steve,

It is correct that TI shows as 32 bit, but there should only one GUI entry in Task Manager.

I can't quite see how installing TI would alter the permissions of IE 11, although TI does like to have the browser closed when installing.

The only suggestions I have are to try a repair install of TI 2015 or uninstall, run the Acronis Cleaner, reboot and see if you still have the IE 11 problem. If you do, might be worth checking if there were any Microsoft updates that might have downloaded int he background and been installed around the same time.

If IE 11 springs back into life, I would try once more installing TI 2015.

I take it build 5539 did not cause a problem with IE11.

It's working again.

Nothing to do with Acronis. Sorry for the false alarm.

For some reason the add-on Shockwave Flash Object is causing the bug. When I disable that add-on from IE it runs fine.

It did start happening right around the time I did the Acronis update to version but I don't think it has anything to do with build 6055.

Appreciate the help.

Steve
