Issues with Acronis Home Version 11 - Need Help

Thread needs solution

I just upgraded from version 10 to version 11 and am very sorry I did. What used to be simple is now many times more complex. I started out wanting to simply back up my hard drive. I did this though it took about two hours for a 130 GB. The next day I went back and it said the backup was corrupted. I changed the method of backup to incremental assuming that it would do a complete backup and then incremental backups after that. Acronis said I had to do a full backup which I did - another two hours gone. The backup ended OK. This morning I brought the computer up from sleep mode and Acronis was trying to validate the backup from yesterday. I had expected that it should have done that as part of yesterday's backup. I canceled the validation and decided to do another backup expecting it would be incremental. It said there was only 82 GB to back up this time but that it estimated that it would take 5 hours + to do the backup. I have other things to do on this machine than just running Acronis. I never had any problems with version 10 doing full backups or incrementals. Am I doing something wrong? Help.
System is Windows Vista SP2 running on a Lenovo Thinkpad notebook.l
