Issues w/True Image 10

Thread needs solution

I'm using True Image Home V. 10.

Few problems as of late on using full backup on both my lap and desktops.

One, been using the program for about 2yrs. In the beginning full backups took little time (under 10min for full backup for approx. 10GB info)

Since, I've had to uninstall and reinstall the program on both machines a few times
and the backup time takes much longer (40 min on my laptop) and full backup is only about 12GB.

And getting an error report (Failed to read from the sector 15,877,790 of the hard disk 1) halfway through on the Ltop backup. I just prompted through to get it to complete but who knows if it's a valid and good backup?

Any advice?

Thanks

Either the laptop drive or the target drive for the backup has bad sectors. Run Chkdsk /r on both (one at a time) and see if that helps.

The /r tells the function to carry out any necessary repairs. What ver. of Windows are you using?

Hello paul and DwnNDrty,

Paul, I completely agree with DwnNDrty, it seems that you have some drive errors and you need to repair them by the means of CHKDSK utility.

Please do the following:

  • Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
  • Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r"

where DISK is the partition letter you need to check, so if you want to check drive D, you need to type in the following:

chkdsk D: /r

Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

If the issue still persists after checking the drive, please download Acronis Report utility, run it and attach created report to your reply.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.
