Ist Acronis 2014 ein Festplattenkiller?
Jetzt streikt bereits meine vierte externe Sicherungsfestplatte, auf der ausschliesslich Vollbackups mit Acronis 2014 gemacht werden. Nachdem ich ca. ein Jahr lang einmal pro Woche ein Vollbackup gemacht habe, gibt es nur noch beschädigte Archive. Prüft man die Festplatte, ist allesOK, CHKDSK findet keine Fehler, man kann alles machen auf der Festplatte, nur kein Backup mehr mit ATI 2014 => es ist bschädigt, hält keiner Validierung mehr stand, immer kommt der orangerote Balken. Auch neu Formatieren nutzt nichts, nicht Schnellformatierung sondern die Gründliche, die bei einer 2 TB-Festplatte mehrere Stunden benötigt, nutzt nichts.
Die erste Festplatte hatte einen FireWire-Anschluss, die nächste war eine 1TB-Platte von Freecom mit eSATA, die dritte eine 2TB-Platte von Freecom mit eSATA und die vierte nun eine WDElements 2TB mit USB3-Anschluss. Alle diese vier Festplatten haben nach ungefähr einem Jahr nach einem Backup pro Woche den Geist aufgegeben, das ist doch merkwürdig. Die 3 Festplatten in meinem PC laufen seit 5 Jahren von morgens bis abends, 7 Tage die Woche und meistens noch die halbe Nacht und haben noch nie das kleinste Problem verursacht.
Hat jemand ähnliche Erfahrungen gemacht?
Ich behaupte nicht, dass Acronis True Image 2014 exgerne Festolatten zerstört, stelle aber fest, dass nach 1-2 Jahren auf vier von meinen unterschiedlichen externen Festplatten kein Acronis-Backup mehr möglich ist. Alles andere funktioniret nach wie vor und Hardwarekontrollen inkl. chkdsk finden keinen Fehler. Aber wer hat schon Verwendung für vier externe Festplatten?
Im Log finde ich folgende Meldung:

Aus den Erklärungen in der Knolage Base werde ich nicht schlau, zumindest finde ich hier keine Anleitung, wie ich wieder zu gültigen Backup-Archiven auf dieser Festplatte komme.

From these forum topics, the core issue has been a mix of different things, memory problems with RAM modules is common to some, faulty cables connecting disk drives, failing disk drives, firewall settings for router connected drives etc.
I would recommend using a memory test program, i.e. MEMTEST or the Windows Memory diagnostic to perform an extended test of your installed memory - leave running overnight?
If the memory tests are all good / clear, then try creating a test backup image to a local drive partition if available to isolate / eliminate any external drive connections / cables / power sources.

Danke für die Tips. Hier noch eine Ergänzung zur Präzisierung meiner Installation:
Ich verwende für meine Backups schon immer 2 externe Festplatten abwechselnd im Wochentakt. Eine ruht im Keller, die andere neben dem Rechner, wird nach dem Backup aber vom Rechner getrennt und vor dem nächsten Backup mit der anderen Festplatte ausgetauscht. Zur Zeit verwende ich 2 identische 2.5" WD Elements 2TB mit USB3 Anschluss.
Die ältere streikt nun, wie die 3 Vorgänger Festplatten während auf der zweiten identischen Festplatte, die ca. 1 Jahr jünger ist, alles perfekt fuktioniert.
Das schliesst doch aus, dass das Problem am Arbeitsspeicher, der Schnittstelle oder dem Verbindunskabel liegt, ich benutze für beide Festplatten das gleiche USB3 Kabel. Die Festplatten werden direkt am Rechner angeschlossen, nicht an einem Router oder NAS-Server.
Auch das gründliche Formatieren der Platte mit den beschädigten Backups, das 1/2 Nacht benötigt, hat keinen Erfolg gebracht. Hierbei werden beschädigte Sektoren isoliert.

When you are using your 2 different (identical) backup drives, are you using 2 different ATI backup tasks, or are you switching the drives while using only 1 ATI task?
If you only have 1 task and are swapping backup drives, this has been known to cause problems, though I do not recall it causing backups to be corrupted.

Ich verstehe einfach nicht, dass die abwechselnde Datensicherung mit 2 externen Festplatten ca. 1.5 bis 2 Jahre lang problemlos funktioniert und dann plötzlich bei der älteren Platte nicht mehr funktioniert und das nun bereits zum vierten mal.
Ich bin nun im Besitz von vier externen Festplatten, auf denen kein Fehler zu finden ist aber kein Acronis-Backup mehr möglich ist. Somit kann ich auch keinen Garantieanspruch geltend machen. : (
Mit Acronis True Image Home 2010 habe ich angefangen, jetzt schreiben wir 2018. Das bedeutet 4 Festplatten in 8 Jahren, also eine Lebensdauer von ca 2 Jahren pro Platte im Schnitt.

I am now in possession of four external hard disks, on which no error can be found but Acronis backup is no longer possible. Thus, I can not assert a warranty claim. :(
I started with Acronis True Image Home 2010, now we're writing 2018. That means 4 disks in 8 years, so a lifetime of about 2 years per disk on average.

Sorry but I do not have an answer for why this should be. I have never had any drives go bad or stop working in the way that you describe unless it has been a fatal drive issue, and that has been very rare too.
There can be logic board failures with drives, i.e. the circuit board within drive enclosures or on the drive itself - these are perhaps the most sensitive components in modern drives, so would be susceptible to temperature issues, power spikes, vibration etc.
The cables used to connect external drives can sometimes go bad or cause intermittent problems but this has been very rare in my experience.
I would recommend going to the drive manufacturers support web site and downloading any diagnostic tools / programs provided for testing the drives which are not working correctly.
